NBD Launches E-Government Payment for taxes and Customs through 70 Branches
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 17 - 07 - 2012

As a result of the National Bank for Development's (NBD) keenness to provide advanced banking services, the bank introduced its taxes and customs electronic payment service, which enables clients and non-clients to pay their taxes and customs in a faster, cheaper, more efficient and safer way.
Customers, whether individuals or companies – including the public and private sector - can benefit from the new service through the bank's network of 70 branches spread across Egypt.
Nevine Loutfy, Managing Director and CEO of NBD, stated, “The bank provides the E-government payment service for taxes and customs in coordination with the Ministry of Finance to all individuals and entities. The new service helps boosting the National economy by facilitating the payment process for customers of both taxes and customs, through decentralizing tax collection."
The E-government payment service offered by the bank is faster, cheaper, more efficient and safer. It is faster in terms of payment as the bank has a wide network of branches that are easily accessible, without being obliged to pay at the client's registered tax office. Additionally, payment is available throughout the bank's working hours.
Furthermore, it is cheaper for customers as it allows for fast payment and clearance of cargo customs without incurring fines or risks that usually result from delayed release of the cargo. It is also a more efficient and safer method with a lower rate of errors and loss of money as payments are safely executed electronically. Payments are directly transferred to the customers' account at the customs and tax authority at the same moment that clients complete their electronic payments.
