Egypt to take part in world's largest drilling and mining conference
Published in Daily News Egypt on 02 - 03 - 2013

An Egyptian delegation is set to take part in The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada's (PDAC) PDAC 2013 Conference, the world's largest drilling and mining conference, hosted in Toronto, Canada between 3 March and 6 March.
The conference will be attended by thousands of investors, dignitaries and officials from the world's largest contractors, product distributors, think tanks and oil drilling and mining companies.
Moatez Raslan, President of the Canada Egypt Business Council (CEBC), said that the CEBC had organised a delegation to attend the conference, in order to help shed light for Egypt's business community on the latest developments and investment opportunities in the international drilling and mining sector.
He added that the CEBC was working closely with its Canadian counterparts to help prepare the delegation's itinerary for the conference. The delegation will include members of the CEBC, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA).
Raslan added that the delegation would seek to promote foreign investment for drilling projects in Egypt, which possesses vast mineral resources, in order to help address the country's drawn out economic crisis. He added that the conference would provide Egyptian businessmen with a great opportunity to advertise and promote Egypt as a lucrative site for investment.
The delegation planned on meeting with a number of executive officials from Canadian drilling companies and Toronto's stock exchange, he said, in order to strengthen economic ties between the two countries and promote opportunities for mutual investment.
