Nokia has announced the possible launch of new smart phones working with the Android platform. According to Spanish newspaper EL-Pais, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said: “In the present war of systems, we are always thinking about what next.” “We have privileged relationships with Microsoft. We are calm because we have launched the only differentiated Windows Phone. Others have standard hardware, but our skills are in photography and software.” “We knew we were going to go through a very difficult transition." Elop's new announcement is a surprise because in international newspaper interviews a couple of years ago, he condemned Android saying: “It is like a Finnish boy that pees in his pants to stay warm throughout the winter." Communication and industrial technology lecturer Mohamed Taymour told Daily News Egypt: “It's very easy to apply the Android platform because it's an open system." Taymour added that if Nokia really uses Android in phones it will act as a competitor to Samsung, the pioneer in operating Android system, however it won't compete with Apple anymore. Taymour said: “Concerning tablets, it will be very difficult for Nokia to launch tablets because the market share is fully saturated." Communication engineer Abdel Rahman Ali said: “Nokia has very rich infrastructure presentation to operate the Android.” “Nokia won't be a strong competitor to Samsung, because the latter has better quality especially in touch screens."
