Egypt's international midfielder Ahmed Fathi revealed that he has no intention of leaving English side Sheffield United despite dropping to the Championship as he doesn't want to interrupt his European adventure. It's better to play in the Championship than going back to Egypt as I'll have the chance of playing in the Premier League a season later or maybe get another offer in England, the 22-year-old player told FilGoal.com. The former Ismaili star wants to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Ahmed Abou-Mosallam who stuck with Strasbourg last season in the Ligue 2 and now he is settled at the club and will play next season among the elites of France. Zamalek Chairman Mamdouh Abbas was quoted saying in the Egyptian press that he had reached an agreement with Fathi in order to sign him starting from next season. But Fathi denied such rumors and confirmed that he has no plans of a comeback especially after just one year as it could blow his chances of going back to Europe. West Ham were fined £5.5 m by an independent disciplinary commission on April 27 over their signings of Carlos Tevez and his compatriot Javier Mascherano. Sheffield United were officially relegated to the Championship but the board made a legal bid against the FA's decision which was considered as unjust as they thought there must have been a more aggravated sanctions like point deductions on the Hammers. Wigan, Charlton, Middlesbrough and Fulham support Sheffield United in their legal action.
