Cairo, Egypt - March 22, 2009 - Google launched a competition for 160 orphans in Cairo to design Google doodle explaining what it means to be Egyptian. The winning doodle, which will be displayed on Google Egypt Homepage (www.google.com.eg) for a day, will be seen by millions of Egyptian internet users. One-hundred and sixty orphans selected by Resala, the Egyptian based charitable organization, participated in the 'Doodle 4 Google - My Egypt' competition. In a day that also featured fund activities for the kids, more than 200 doodles were submitted. an expert panel from the Faculty of Applied Arts at the German University in Cairo has narrowed them to 25 doodles based on artistic merit, creativity and theme.
