ADDIS ABABA: Kenya is getting a new mobile handset after LG announced it was launching its triple-SIM C333 in the East African country. It comes on the heels of massive development of Kenya's mobile and telecom sector that has seen an increase in users across the country. According to LG, the new C-Series phone, which includes the C195 and Golf C365 will cost some KES 6,000 upon entry and will be available at all leading retailers across the country. It will also launch the new device in the East African region. “LG's new range of handsets is aimed especially at the youth market who would like access to social networking sites," the company said in a statement on Tuesday. “The phones come with easy-to-navigate features such as Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus among others. They have a QWERTY keyboard for ease of texting and chatting. Users can also be alerted to missed calls or unread messages through an LED light that blinks," it added. Kenya's telecom sector has seen dramatic improvements since price wars between telecom operators threatened the sustainability of new products over the past few years, but now companies like LG are flocking to one of Africa's fastest growing markets.
