CAIRO: Middle East security value-added distributor (VAD) StarLink announced on Wednesday that it was looking to boost its presence further with the launch of a new deal with nCircle for the African continent. NCircle is a provider of information risk and security performance management services and StarLink believes that across Africa the alliance can deliver to companies the much-needed security for their technological bases and infrastructure. StarLink will distribute nCircle's entire product portfolio to resellers throughout the Middle East and Africa (MEA). “StarLink has the detailed product expertise, an extensive reseller channel, deep customer relationships and the in-region knowledge to provide world-class support to its rapidly growing market," the company said in a press release on Wednesday. The move is being seen by analysts as a positive step for the company and for Africa in general. They argued that with the massive rise in telecom and information technology (IT) over the past few years, the need to ensure the security base behind companies is vital to the continued success of networks and companies. StarLink also said that as hackers are becoming more prevalent in Africa, it could develop into a safeguard for companies looking to secure their databases.
