KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's Johor police arrested 7 people and seized the largest cache of drugs in the state, which amount to some 1.17 metric tons estimated at a worth of RM68 million, in separate raids around the southern Peninsula city on Sunday, police reported. State police chief, Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff, said the raids were carried out at three units of Pemandang Tanjung Apartments in Jalan Junid and two nearby houses in the early morning on Sunday following information received and surveillance. “Five men and two women aged 24 to 50 were detained. They are believed to be part of a drug trafficking syndicate using the apartments as a processing lab,” he told reporters at the Muar police headquarters on Wednesday.
