KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian rescuers were able to locate the German pilot of a helicopter that crashed into a river on the island of Borneo in Malaysia, but three passengers are still missing, officials said on Friday. The helicopter, privately owned, reported crashed near a small coastal town in Sarawak in Eastern Malasyia early Friday, and has seen rescuers rush to the scene in an attempt to locate the passengers. The official said the pilot was receiving treatment at a local clinic, while authorities were searching for two men and a woman who are still missing. He did not have any further details. Malaysia's The Star daily newspaper reported that after the helicopter crashed into the river, the 35-year-old pilot managed to get out away from the wreckage and swam for four hours before being rescued by local fishermen. In 2010, an American pilot was killed when his Sikorsky S-64 helicopter, carrying logs, crashed in Sarawak state.
