India schoolboy ‘unfriends' Facebook mate, with six paper cutter stabs
Published in Bikya Masr on 17 - 05 - 2012

NEW DELHI: Here's an instance of the social media, getting under your skin. Quite literally splitting it.
Enraged by a photo posted on Facebook by a fallen out friend, a 15-year-old boy stabbed him with a paper cutter in New Delhi.
The victim, had six stab wounds with his veins slashed and had to be rushed to hospital where surgery was conducted on him to stop the bleeding.
A couple of days before the incident occurred on Wednesday, the victim was warned by the a Std X student through a phone text message, that he would stab him in school because of the photo uploaded on Facebook.
Both the victim and the attacker were friends, but their relationship soured after a photograph clicked at a party they had attended was circulated through Facebook by the former.
According to one relative, the victim cropped the party picture and circulated it with the attacker alongside another student on it. This infuriated the attacker leading to Wednesday's incident in school.
According to the school's Principal, the two boys studied in different sections of Class X and the two had some animosity for a few days.
The victim's speedy recovery is of prime concern for the school at the moment and disciplinary action if any can be considered only after that, said the principal of the school, which is among New Delhi's more famous schools.
The victim's mother claimed that her son had complained earlier that the attacker was bullying him. On Wednesday morning, she got a call to come to the school only to discover that her son was taken to hospital with injuries, she said.
The Rajendar Nagar police station has recorded the incident and Additional Commissioner of Police, Devesh Srivastav said the Juvenile Justice Board will be presented the case.
