CAIRO: Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr decided to ban embassies in Cairo from inspecting the passports of Egyptian passengers traveling to their countries or dealing with them at Egyptian airports. Some embassies in Cairo have recently assigned a number of their employees to work at Egyptian airports to check the passports of Egyptians traveling to those countries, said Assistant Foreign Minister Ashraf el-Kholi, in a report issued to Bikyamasr.com by Egypt's State Information Service. The move is considered “interference in internal affairs,” Kholi said noting that the ministry has informed all embassies that these actions should be cancelled immediately and that their employees should not meddle in airport procedures.
