A report by Egypt's Tahrir Doctors confirmed two people are dead from gun shots in the latest attack on the protesters outside Ein Shams University in Cairo, early on Wednesday. They said that the closeby hospitals that would normally receive the injured were closed, which resulted in the worsening of some of the urgent cases. The report said two persons were shot in the head, one critical case shot in the chest, four shot in the eye with bird shot and 20 others shot with the same ball like bullets in the face and the body. Activists have reported that 6 were killed in the clashes when their sit-in was attacked by what they called “army sponsored thugs” early on Wednesday. The Tahrir Doctor, a group of volunteer doctors to help in the running of makeshift hospitals around clashes' areas confirmed that the surrounding hospitals were closed and refused to receive the wounded. The hospitals are al-Demerdash, Ein Shams al-Takhasosi, al-Hussien. They said that only Dar al-Shifaa medical center was open, but added that “thugs have taken control over it and kidnapped some of the injured.” They confirmed that many of the emergency medical technicians were assaulted for trying to help the wounded. The doctors said the situation is now calm and a sufficient number of doctors and ambulances are in place.
