NAIROBI: Kenya is gaining popularity as an outsourcing hub, and as a result it is streamlining itself to be a hub of Africa by 2030. The invitation-only, East Africa Outsourcing Summit that will be held in Nairobi from 5th to 6th June 2012 will act as a stage for players in the out¬sourcing industries in East Africa to gain insight from the key outsourcing regions worldwide. With global technology trends Kenya needs to develop as an outsourcing hub. This is a good strategy that will support the development of a stable industry. It will also maintain economic growth and focus on ICT infrastructure development, science technology and innovations and human resource development (HRD). “Given the size of the market and the addressable demand, there is an opportunity for emerging economies to provide BPO services to the developed world. Kenya has recognized and taken advantage of this opportunity and will put the country on parity with IT service competitors on the continent as one of the fastest growing developing outsourcing destinations,” said Shannon Mackrill, Joint MD at Kinetic Events. The summit will explore the positioning of people, processes and technology. This will in turn provide solutions that will assist companies in selecting the best practices to apply.
