CAIRO: Presidential hopeful Khaled Ali attacked the Egyptian Supreme Council of the Armed Forces demands to draft the constitution before the upcoming presidential elections. There is no reason for the hurry to draft a constitution that won't fit the people who sacrificed its best youth for the success of the revolution, said Ali in a statement on Tuesday. “The people will not allow the constitution to be drafted under military rule, because such a constitution would kill the revolution”, he added. Ali suggested that the only solution for the continuation and completion of the revolution and achieving its goals is unity. He also called upon all political powers to go to the squares on 20 April to express their anger over the council's mismanagement of the transitional period, to reject Article 28 of the constitutional declaration and reject the candidacies of the remnants of the ousted regime. Al-Masry Al-Youm reported. The leftist candidate said all revolutionary and national powers should overlook all differences with regard to continuing the revolution once again, and go down the streets on 20 April under one flag, that is the Egyptian flag, without raising any other flags of groups, parties and national movements that would give an image of division in the square.
