LAGOS: It has been revealed that Edo, Imo, Jigawa and Akwa Ibom states will jostle for one of the most keenly contested categories in the popular Titans of Tech Award, the “ICT driven State of the year award”. Technology Africa, organizer of the award said all plans are still intact for the award scheduled to take place from Thursday April 19 to Friday April 20 at the Orientals Hotel in Lagos. It is set with the theme “State of ICT Infrastructure and the Challenges of a Digital Economy.” Don Pedro Aganbi, Secretary of the Awards Committee, revealed that the annual Titans of Tech Award and gala is now in its seventh year. It is designed to celebrate Hi-Tech's most important movers and shakers; individuals, organizations and institutions that are at the fore front of technological advancement in Nigeria. Aganbi stated, “the key criteria include value of the service or technology in solving recognized technology problems, meeting network requirements, optimizing service and performance, and/or enhancing customer service, overall quality of innovation and contribution to ICT advancement, originality and vision, potential contribution towards positive industry growth and service, market success/acceptance and contribution to end-user quality-of-experience and service efficiency.” The award for ICT Infrastructure Company of the year is a battle between Helios Towers, IHS, Phase3 telecom and Swap. While Main One Cable, Computer warehouse, Zinox and Dataflex would slug it out for the ICT Company of the year. ICT Brand of the year award is up for grabs by one of Airtel, Etisalat, Main One Cable and Zinox. Technologies Abti America University, Babcock University, Bells University and Covenant University will be in contention for ICT Driven University of the year.
