Cairo: Libyan Rebels released 255 Egyptian fishermen from the Burj Moghaizel village, after they were detained for four days following a dispute between the rebels and the Libyan government. During the clash, fire shots were exchanged between both sides at the Port of Zuwara in western Libya, and the Libyans Rebels detained 400 Egyptian fisherman working at the port. Following the intervention of the Egyptian Ambassador in Libya, around 120 Egyptian fishermen were released as follows: 25 fishermen on Friday. 19 fishermen on Saturday, while the rest of the fishermen are still in Libya, and were allowed to fish in the Libyan territorial waters. Ahmed Abdul Nassar, Captain of fishermen in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, confirmed that 19 fishermen arrived in Kafr El-Sheikh on Saturday, following the 25 that arrived on Friday, which raises the number of the fishermen who arrived to Egypt to 44 fishermen. He added that a number of Egyptian fishermen contacted him by telephone on Saturday and informed him that the Libyan rebels released the 255 fishermen and set off on fishing trips on the boats that they work for in the Libyan port of Zuwara .
