CAIRO: Dr. Ayman Nour, leader of Al Ghad Al Thawra Party, announced on Saturday that he will suspend his campaign for presidential elections temporarily until Egypt's interim military rulers transfer power to a civillian authority. He explained that his decision comes in the light of the military leader's failure to annul a court ruling against him, which dates back to 2005, when he was falsely charged with forging documents. He denounced all fabricated charges levied against political activists by the interim military junta. He called on the SCAF to “step down,” and said during a press conference at the party headquarters on Saturday that “we need an army for Egypt, a real and a new constitution, a neutral party to administer the presidential elections and a civil state.” He called on all political civil and liberal forces to form a broad coalition to ensure the principles of a civil state and national unity.
