Omani school security guard arrested for alleged rape

CAIRO: A security guard at a college in Miri, Oman was arrested for allegedly raping a young girl last Friday.
The 18-year-old university student said that the man attacked and raped her in the changing room of the private college's gym in the early hours of Friday morning.
Miri police chief Jamaluddin Ibrahim confirmed to the press that the 42-year-old suspect was in custody, pending investigations.
The victim was sent to Miri Hospital for a medical check after filing her claim.
In Oman, rape is punishable by up to 20 years in prison and whipping.
