DUBAI: A house worker in Saudi Arabia attacked her boss, a housewife, after the two reportedly got into an argument. The African woman reportedly used a hammer to beat the woman in the head. According to local reports in the northeastern Saudi town of Hafr al-Batin, the housewife was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries and is not in stable condition. Violence has been growing in the ultra-conservative Gulf kingdom in recent years as house workers report more and more domestic abuse against them by their Saudi employers. It is unclear what sparked the most recent violent oubturst, the Saudi daily Okaz reported. Doctors at the hospital said the woman was brought with a “hammered” head into hospital was not stable after receiving treatment. “The maid, aged 30 years, hit the woman with the hammer on her head many times…police arrested the maid and are questioning her exact motives,” the Saudi Arabic language daily ‘Okaz' said. Already this year, Indonesia and the Philippines have established massive restrictions on women from their respective countries working in Saudi after abuses, rape and violence became almost commonplace.
