Stockholm (dpa) – Swedish telecommunications equipment maker Ericsson's 1-billion-dollar deal to acquire software and services developer Telcordia will not be completed in 2011, the group said Tuesday. When the deal, worth 1.15 billion dollars, was announced in June, it was planned to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2011. However, approvals were still outstanding from certain government authorities and, due to the holiday season, Ericsson said it was unlikely the deal would be closed until early 2012. Ericsson has in recent years begun to manage networks for telecom operators. The addition of Telcordia was aimed at strengthening that business. Telcordia, which employs over 2,600 people, is based in the US state of New Jersey. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/KcKUx Tags: Deal, Ericsson, Telcordia Section: Tech
