CAIRO: Humorous Egyptians created tens of Facebook pages in honor of American actor Vin Diesel after he posted pictures from his Egypt trip on his personal page on the social-networking site. Egyptians started the pages by wondering who is the woman behind Diesel in one of the pictures, mimicking the joke that arose after ousted President Hosni Mubarak's departure speech that was read by his deputy and former intelligence chief Omar Soliman, in which a mysterious man was standing behind. Many Facebook pages sprouted after the departure speech and hundreds of thousands of Egyptians were collectively laughing at the anonymity of “the man behind Omar Soliman.” The new joking wave is involving an older street vendor in the popular district of Imbaba, where he wrote under the picture “hiding in plain sight.” The old woman appears in just one of the pictures that Diesel posted of his February journey to Egypt, at the peak of the Egyptian revolution. Diesel is popular in Egypt and the region for action films he starred in such as the “Fast and the Furious” series and The Chronicles of Riddick.
