CAIRO: Egypt Air will begin flying to Tripoli on November 17 after an 8-month stoppage as a result of Libya's civil war that ended last month. The move aims to increase travel between the Egyptian capital and Libya and return flights to normal. In a statement on Thursday evening, the Egyptian national air carrier said that the first flight will be on November 17. Earlier this month, the national airline began flying four flights weekly to the Eastern Libyan city of Benghazi. The announcement comes as foriegn observers have warned that leftover weapons could be used against civilian aircraft, but airlines have said the Libyan capital's airport is safe. Italy's al-Italia and Turkey's Turkish Airlines have already resumed flights to Tripoli. Egypt Air has been on the move for new destinations, adding Addis Ababba earlier this month. BM
