Egypt to resume flights to Libya next week

The EgyptAir Holding Company announced on Thursday it will resume flights to Benghazi, Libya on 5 November.
Flights to Libya were suspended over the past seven months while NATO planes enforced a no-fly zone over the country.
EgyptAir announced that there will be four direct flights to Benghazi each week on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The Libyan Civil Aviation Authority has officially notified EgyptAir that Tripoli International Airport is undergoing reconstruction and will resume operations when the work is finished. EgyptAir will open flights to Tripoli once it is allowed, Massoud added.
Engineer Hussein Massoud, chairman and CEO of the EgyptAir Holding Company, said the airline made resuming flights to Libya its highest priority. He noted that EgyptAir is one of the largest and oldest airlines that flies to Libyan cities, having operated 21 flights per week last year, 14 to Tripoli and seven to Benghazi.
