CAIRO: Egypt's Tahrir Doctors Organization, a group of independent medical workers who assisted activists who were protesting in the central Cairo square, has signed an agreement with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to deliver training and logistical support to local doctors. According to Mohamed Fattouh, TDO president, the new deal will enable the group to represent MSF within Egypt, al-Youm al-Saba'a reported. Fattouh said Doctors Without Borders held a training session for 30 members of TDO, including nurses and supervisors, on strategies for crisis management. TDO was founded during the January 25 uprising and provided medical aid during the revolution. It also assisted during the July sit-in in Tahrir Square. It now aims to provide medical intervention during disasters, advocate citizens' right to health care and attempt to reform the health system. BM
