CAIRO: Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's health is in stable condition, a medical source told the state-run MENA news agency on Sunday. The source reported that Dr. Yasser Abdel Kader, professor of oncology at Qasr el-Aini Hospital, had been permitted by the court to follow the health of the former president throughout the trial of the deposed leader, which continues on Monday. Kader visited Mubarak in the International Medical Center and conducted tests. The source said the former president's condition is stable and he is under constant supervision of the medical team that oversees the treatment center. The source added that Kader will visit the deposed president again after he receives permission from the court. The case of Hosni Mubarak and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, which began on August 3, was adjourned until August 15, but the case against former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly and his aides, also charged with killing protesters, has returned to court twice since August 3, most recently on Sunday. Judge Ahmed Rifaat said that the 83-year-old Mubarak, who has been suffering poor health, will be transferred to the International Medical Health Center in the Egyptian capital as he awaits his second court appearance.
