CAIRO: An Egyptian lawyer is filing a lawsuit against three leading activists for allegedly “inciting violence” against former President Hosni Mubarak. Lawyer Ussry Abdel Razak filed the case against former Alexandria Judge's Club Chairman Mahmoud el-Khodari, Kefaya Movement Coordinator Abdel-Halim Qandeel and engineer Mamdouh Hamza, over causing people to rise up in violence against the former dictator. The lawyer, reported by Egyptian newspapers, told the public prosecutor the three figures “stimulated public trial in Tahrir Square and incited the protesters to go to Sharm el-Sheikh if Mubarak's trial is postponed.” Mubarak is scheduled to begin on August 3, where he is accused of ordering the killing of protesters during the 18 days of protests that led to his ousting. Protesters in the country have said that they may head to the Red Sea resort town to continue their protests. If convicted, Mubarak could face the death penalty. BM
