CAIRO: The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, will arrive in Cairo today, Wednesday, for a two-day visit, reported state news agency MENA. The trip marks Ashton's third visit to Cairo since the beginning of the January 25 Revolution. She will meet with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil al-Arabi to discuss relations between Egypt and the EU, as well as the latest regional and international developments. Ashton will also take part in a meeting held by the Arab League on Thursday for regional and international organizations to discuss the situation in Libya. Ashton first visited post-Mubarak Egypt on Feb. 21, when she held talks with senior Egyptian officials and met with representatives of various political groups. She also visited Tahrir Square, the center of the massive 18-day popular uprising that led to the ouster of former President Hosni Mubarak. She visited Egypt again in mid-March. BM
