The term “going green” can be applied to many avenues of thinking the main motivating factor in going green is hopefully to save the earth and benefit all the living creatures and forests that occupy it. From a personal perspective, going green means keeping things simple and making sure to recycle all of our materials that contain plastic, paper, and other materials in order to preserve our planets limited resources. From a corporate perspective the term can mean many other things. Corporations have the unique advantage of not only saving the planet, but also increasing company morale, creating professional partnerships, and lowering overall costs with regard to energy, consumable purchases, and so forth. The current economic state has provided a lot of new avenues for job creation as well as capitalizing on several worldwide government programs that could lower emission levels as well as energy levels. President Obama's administration are very committed to the green movement and it's relation to global climate change making sure that these important issues are at the forefront of their agenda for resolving challenges that effect us all. Some ways both governments and for that matter corporations are going green on a global scale are by such actions as reducing reliance on oil from overseas resources. By doing this they both improve and reduce energy usage and result in more energy independence. Individuals, governments and businesses alike can find ways to improve the environment like recycling, reducing energy usage, emission reduction and reduction in the use of products like aerosols. When people get involved in the go green movement, they usually wonder what held them back for so long. Going green feels and looks right, and makes sense for a better tomorrow. BM
