Egypt to sign protocol with Rungis to develop wholesale markets
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 26 - 01 - 2019

Egypt's Supply Minister Ali Moselhy said on Friday a cooperation protocol will be signed on Monday with France's Rungis International Market, which is considered the largest wholesale food market in the world.
The protocol, which will be inked during French President Emmanuel Macron's upcoming visit to Egypt, aims to outline a plan to develop wholesale markets in Egypt, said the minister.
The minister made the remarks during his inauguration of Bonjourno instant coffee factory, which is affiliated with Nestlé SA. The factory was built with investments worth 250 million pounds.
Moselhy said that his ministry has worked on drawing up a strategy to develop Egypt's internal trade sector and establish trade and logistic zones nationwide.
There are 100 million consumers in Egypt with only three major markets that do not utilise modern technology, Moselhy noted.
Moselhy asserted that it is high time for Egypt to benefit from the successful experiences in developed countries to promote its internal trade and boost its exports through following strict rules and providing products at the highest quality.
