Egyptian Engineering and Consulting Bureau (ECB) says it is supervising the implementation and designs of 3 projects for a number of real estate developers in the country's new administrative capital and New Cairo. Mohamed Abdel Ghany, ECB's founder, said on Sunday that the three projects are with investments up to 28 billion Egyptian pounds ($1 billion). The first two projects are located in new capital on spaces of 200 feddans and 114 feddans, while the third hotel and administrative complex project is located in New Cairo, Abdel Ghany further said. ECB is looking to expand its business in the African markets, through submitting offers to win a bunch of the sanitation, irrigation, and road projects in Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda, he added. Located 45km (28 miles) east of Cairo, the anticipated new capital city is part of the Egyptian government's plan to expand urban areas to deal with the state's rapid population growth and improve the nation's infrastructure. The new city is set to be a 270-square-mile hub with 21 residential districts to accommodate five million people. It will feature 1,250 mosques and churches as well as 5,000-seat conference center, nearly 2,000 schools and colleges, over 600 medical facilities, and a park that is projected to be the world's largest.
