Egypt's trade with Arab countries rose 0.3% in May

Trade exchange between Egypt and Arab countries recorded a 0.3 percent slight increase to $1.89 billion in May from $1.884 billion last year.
Egypt's imports from Arab countries increased 1.5 percent to $1.023 billion from 1.008 billion, according to a copy of a state statics agency CAPMAS statement reviewed by Amwal Al Ghad on Saturday.
"Egyptian exports to Arab countries fell 1 percent to $866.5 million, compared with $875.7 million," CAPMAS said.
The volume of trade between Egypt and Saudi Arabia dropped 13.8 percent to around $546.7 million against $622.2 million.
Egypt's exports to Saudi Arabia reduced 12.4 percent to $120.8 million, versus $137.9 million.
Egyptian imports from Saudi Arabia fell 12 percent to $425.9 million from $484.3 million.
Trade between Egypt and United Arab Emirates slipped 27.1 percent to around $302.5 million, compared with $354.3 million.
Egyptian exports to UAE reduced 11 percent to $218.2 million against $245.4 million.
"Egyptian exports to Algerian market jumped to $108.6 million, compared with $40.9 million," the agency added.
Egypt's exports to Libyan market rose 90.4 percent to $63.6 million from $33.4 million. Meanwhile the exports fell 15 percent to $355.3 million, versus $418.1 million to the rest of the Arab countries.
Egypt's imports from Kuwait climbed 63.5 percent to $187.9 million against $114.9 million.
These imports surged $142.4 million from $95.4 million, while they slipped 10.6 percent to $182.9 million, compared with $204.7 million.
