Sisi praises Saudi decision to lift ban on women driving

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has praised the Saudi decision to lift the ban on women driving in Saudi Arabia, saying this is proof of the Kingdom's determination to empower women.
"I watch with interest the latest achievements of Saudi women which reflects the determination of the Kingdom represented in His Majesty King Salman and His Majesty Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman to empower women and to protect their rights," the President wrote on Twitter in Arabic.
Sisi added that the recent decisions by the Saudi government are proof of the courage in decision-making and the sincere desire for enlightenment and development.
Saudi women were legally allowed to take to public roads starting on Saturday.
