A new report suggests that Samsung and LG will be doing smartphone announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. According to ETnews, the two Korean tech giants are planning to take the wraps off some of their mid-range models for next year. Samsung will supposedly introduce the Galaxy A8 and A8+, while LG is said to unveil a 2018 version of its K10 model. While this information is unofficial, we have to say that we won't be surprised if it turns out to be true, as this is the typical announcement timeframe for new members of these two series. Although the upcoming Galaxy A and K models are considered "mid-range", they will be quite different in terms of specs and looks. Samsung's offerings will bear a good number of the flagship traits of this year's Galaxy S8, such as the all-screen design, a large Super AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and support for Bixby Home and Reminders (no Bixby button or Bixby Voice, though). For comparison, the LG K10 is tipped to be much more conventional – no "all-screen" design, a 5.3-inch 16:9 FHD screen, a quad-core processor, 3 GB RAM, and 32 GB of storage. However, the K10 will reportedly have a few extra bells and whistles such as support for LG Pay and FM radio. Time will tell if this information will prove to be accurate, but fortunately, we won't have to wait long to find out.
