Kenyan-Egyptian alliance to maximise Kenyan imports to Egypt: minister
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 20 - 07 - 2016

Egypt and Kenya targets establishing strategic partnership to maximise Kenyan imports of meat and tea to Egyptian market, Egyptian Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy stated Tuesday.
The minister made these remarks during his meeting with Chairman of Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) and heads of firms producing Kenyan tea.
The meeting aimed at establishing strategic cooperation between two countries to raise the volume of Kenyan exports to Egypt in addition to opening new markets for Egyptian products in Kenya.
Hanafy met the Kenyan officials during his participation in the 14th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTD) that took place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 17 to 22 July 2016.
The minister said that those strategic partnerships with Kenya comes as pursuant to Egypt's keenness to boost cooperation with the Kenyan side in all fields, support intra-trade movements between two states, and open new markets in Kenya.
Hanafy is set to meet with Kenyan trade and industry minister , Adan Mohamed today to discuss means of enhancing commercial and economic relations.
Under the theme of "Breaking the Chains of Commodity Dependence", participants will discuss how commodity-dependent developing countries can adapt to the twin shocks of lower commodities prices and shrinking demand from emerging economies, so as to realize their national objectives and the 2030 Agenda.
The Conference will feature ministerial debates, high-level round tables, thematic events, a World Investment Forum, a Global Commodities Forum, a Youth Forum and a Civil Society Forum, among other events.
