GAFI: 112 New Investment Opportunities For Expatriates

Osama Saleh, Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI), emphasized on the GAFI's willingness to communicate with the Egyptian expatriates and to help them to take part in supporting and enhancing the national economy.
“GAFI keens on unifying the efforts so as to face the economic challenges in Egypt. We are able to overcome these challenges by attracting local and foreign investments and encourage Egyptian investors whether those how live in Egypt or abroad to participate." Saleh said
“GAFI has established a special division for the Egyptian Expatriates' affairs aiming at opening up new channels of communication with them so that they can take part in the development process and push the investment wheel in Egypt forward. “
This was mentioned while GAFI was among an official delegation organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which made a tour to a number of Arab countries including Lebanon, Bahrain, Sultanate Oman. In the first place, this tour aimed at introducing GAFI's key role in attracting investments and services to be provided to the Egyptian expatriates and in offering new procedures and incentives to attract more investments to Egypt.
GAFI has presented 112 investment opportunities in different governorates. It has also tackled the mega projects and making partnerships between the public and private sectors.

GAFI has introduced its role in supporting the SMEs through Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and SME Development and in tackling investment opportunities in the field of housing which are offered by the Ministry of Housing. GAFI also tackled the Egyptian Dollar Certificate of Deposit.
“The delegation has identified the Egyptian expatriates' problems, answered their inquiries about the available investment opportunities in different sectors, and explained how to have an effective participation in the investment process." Saleh added
Worth mentioning that the delegation has sent an official invitation under the name of the GAFI chairman to the the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce so as to organize Omani businessmen' delegation to Egypt aiming at creating joint investment opportunities between the two countries. The chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce has welcome this invitation and expressed his willingness on activating the Omani-Egyptian Joint Business Council so as to boost the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
