A Jordanian economic delegation, on Wednesday, discussed in Cairo with senior officials in the Egyptian public and private sectors ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various sectors. Head of the delegation, Chairman of Amman Chamber of Commerce, Issa Haider Murad, praised Jordanian-Egyptian relations, noting that Jordan continue its efforts to enhance reform environment in the various sectors. He said Jordan has completed a system of incentive investment and business development legislations, to simplify procedures for investors work environment. He expressed hope to benefit from the Egyptian expertise in infrastructure projects, especially after Jordan has finalized the Public-Private Partnership Law, which allows establishing major projects managed by the private sector. Murad stressed the importance of the Egyptian cooperation in paving the way for Jordan to join the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Treaty. Murad called for holding a permanent Jordanian exhibition in Egypt to inform the Egyptian private sector about Jordanian products, and remove obstacles that prevent the development of trade exchanges between the two countries. In turn, Chief Executive Officer of Egyptian General Authority For Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Alaa Omar, expressed his country's desire to promotion of economic relations with Jordan in various sectors. He pointed out that Jordanian investments in Egypt fall in tenth place, Arab wise, and in the 22th globally, worth more than $2 billion in various sectors. source: Jordan News Agency
