Mohamed Salem Inaugurates Cairo ICT 2012

Dr. Mohamed Salem – minister of communications and information technology- inaugurated the 16th round of “Cairo International Conference of Communications and Information Technology "Cairo ICT 2012" under the slogan "Technological Spring; from Dreams to Necessities ", with the participation of a number of international, Arab and African figures.
The conference witnesses the presence of: Dabertcin Jabermichael the Ethiopian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Samuel Lizoron Bojicio the Kenyan Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Ruhakana Rugunda the Ugandan Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Mohamed abd el Kereem the minister of communications and information technology of Sudan, as well as vice presidents of Uganda, democratic Congo, and Borondy, beside ambassadors of Ethiopia, Uganda, Congo, Sudan, South of Sudan, and Bahrain, as well as council of Iraqi minister of communications.
The conference witnesses a number of important summits, such as the Information Security Summit, the summit of communications' leaders, and the summit of electronic content in participation with "WSI" institution that belongs to the United Nations, beside Information Technology Industry Development Agency “ITIDA".
The opening session of the conference - which lasts for 4 days, between 26th and 29th of April-will focus on the African strategic destination, as it will be titled "Africa Destination", and the speakers will be: Dr Mohamed Salem, the African Ministers, abd Dr Hessa Al Jaber the General Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Communications and Information Technology in Qatar.
The session witnesses the signing of two cooperative agreements between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Higher Education, as well as an agreement between the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Environment.
It was mentioned that discussing the methods of meeting communications and information needs for young Arab societies; was listed in the opening session's agenda.
Cairo ICT is considered as a good opportunity to demonstrate what was achieved by information technology sector in Egypt, as well as the latest acheivments of the Egyptian private sector in IT field, beside projects that represent a good cooperative opportunity with Nile Basin states, in order to develop communications and information technology sectors in these states,
The ministry of communications pavilion – which titled as “Egypt Starts"- includes a lot of entities and authorities belonging to the Ministry such as the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Egypt Post, the National Institute for Communications and Information Technology, the Center of Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Center of adoption and evaluation of software engineering, and Center of electronic signature excellence, and the Egyptian program of information and communication technology for development, and center of civilization documentation .
The slogan "Egypt starts" acts as a symbol Egyptian IT sector promotional campaign, which targets the Egyptian market, Arab markets, and African markets, which begins from this year's Exhibition.
