Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 19 - 08 - 2014

Supported by the Ministry of Trade & Industry, Federation of Egyptian Industries, the Chamber of Chemical Industries, and the Division of Plastic Industries, PLASTEX 2014 is the must-attend platform for machinery manufacturers, exporters and traders looking to be involved in Middle East & North Africa (MENA) plastics market. Held for its 14th version, PLASTEX 2014 will take place from 28 August – 2 September, 2014 at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre (CICEC), Egypt.
"Ever since its launch in 1993, PLASTEX has grown steadily to become one of the most sought-after events for the plastic industry in the MENA region. The show features the latest innovations and technologies from across the world, with the presence of leading exhibitors form countries all over the globe such as Austria, Belgium, China, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, USA and others, in addition to Egypt, the host country," said Ahmed Ghozzi, Chairman of ACG-ITF, organiser of the event.
PLASTEX 2014 is to provide the essential forum for established key players as well as new companies targeting the Middle East and Africa's ever growing markets. "About 24,000 trade visitors from 14 regional MENA countries are estimated to visit the four-day exhibition. PLASTEX 2014, the leading regional trade fair for plastic industries, is dedicated to the plastic machinery, components, raw materials and chemicals industry, and represents products, services, technologies, innovations and trends for MENA markets", said Ahmed Mostafa, PLASTEX Project Manager- ACG-ITF.
Khaled Abul Makarem, President of Division of Plastics, Chamber of Chemcial Industries affiliated to Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) said, "The plastics industry in Egypt is growing steadily and becoming increasingly modernised. There are substantial opportunities for foreign manufacturers to start or expand their business in Egypt. There are about 1300 factories in Egypt with a total market volume of more than USD 4 billions and total investments reaching more than USD 4.5 billions. Moreover, Egypt consumes plastic materials worth nearly USD 1.6 billions annually with the demand expected to increase 10 percent yearly".
"One of the most important advantages of PLASTEX 2014 that it will be held in Egypt, the gateway to the whole MENA region with the second largest economy after KSA and the largest consumer market with population of 92+ million. Moreover, Egypt is considered as the regional industrial base where several global manufacturers chose their regional factories and plants to be held in Egypt", said Rabab Ahmed, International Sales Manager – ACG-ITF. "International exhibitors who are participating in PLASTEX 2014 will have several opportunities such as concluding sales and distribution agreements with Arab-African countries, meeting new partners and regional potential buyers, networking with peers during the show four days and, of course, keeping ahead of competitors", Rabab concluded.
The Fifth Egyptian Exhibition for Plastic Exporters & Manufacturers – EgyPlast, organised by the Egyptian Plastic Exporters and Manufacturers Association (EPEMA), will be held concurrently with PLASTEX 2014 for the fifth time. The previous four editions of EgyPlast held on the sidelines of previous PLASTEX latest four versions proved to be a major success as they provided ideal opportunities for product manufacturers and exporters to meet with machinery and equipment manufacturers, in addition to plastic industry professionals.
