Egypt's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) oversees the regulatory framework and support services for SMEs. Raafat Abbas Shehata, General Supervisor of the MSMEDA Development Sector said. Speaking at the fourth Egyptian Women's Summit on Saturday, Shehata said MSMEDA works with 823 associations and foundations in the micro and small enterprise sector. It also cooperates with 20 banks, 17 ministries, 22 international entities, and the private sector. He explained that Law No. 152 of 2020 on the Development of SMEs and Entrepreneurship has helped grow businesses in the sector. Shehata added that a national strategy is planned for all entities in the SME field. It will include the government's plan and a dedicated strategy for traditional handicrafts. He said MSMEDA provides a wide range of services. These include products for conventional and Islamic banks and non-banking financial companies.
