Egyptian pound strengthens against US dollar in midday Monday trade

The Egyptian pound edged higher against the US dollar in midday trading on Monday, holding close to recent levels across major banks, according to official data.
As of 12:28 p.m. Cairo time (09:28 GMT), the pound traded at the following rates:
