Egypt's Minister of Public Business Sector Mohammed Sheemy met with Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) CEO Hisham Talaat Moustafa to discuss strengthening cooperation in major tourism and hotel ventures, the ministry said Sunday. The talks covered ongoing hospitality projects, future expansion plans, and ways to deepen partnership between the state-owned Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels (HOTAC) and TMG, as part of efforts to boost public-private collaboration in tourism investment. Among the projects reviewed was the Four Seasons Luxor Hotel, being developed by TMG's ICON company on the Sultana Malak site owned by EGOTH, a HOTAC subsidiary. The luxury hotel, located on the Nile's west bank, is expected to become a landmark addition to Upper Egypt's high-end tourism portfolio. The meeting also discussed the performance of hotels under Legacy Hotels and Hospitality, a joint venture between EGOTH and ICON, and examined new expansion opportunities aimed at increasing Egypt's capacity for luxury accommodation and supporting the country's tourism growth strategy. Minister Sheemy stressed the importance of accelerating the execution of joint projects between leading public and private players, in line with Egypt's vision to maximise returns from state-owned tourism assets and enhance the sector's competitiveness regionally and globally.
