Egypt's exports have risen about 20 per cent so far this year, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday, as the government looks to sustain momentum and anchor trade as a key engine of growth. Madbouly told reporters during the weekly Cabinet meeting that export growth would be a central pillar of Egypt's newly launched National Narrative for Economic Development. The prime minister said he had met this week with export council heads to map out strategies to boost shipments over the next five years and ensure year-on-year gains. The push comes as Egypt seeks to diversify its sources of foreign currency and strengthen its external position amid ongoing economic reforms and efforts to attract foreign investment.
