Egypt and Bahrain have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint youth council, aimed at boosting cooperation, exchanging expertise, and promoting youth diplomacy, Egypt's Ministry of Youth and Sports said Saturday. Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy said the move reflects the "deep, historic ties" between the two countries and will open new opportunities for empowering young people to play a greater role in shaping the future. The council will begin its work with a joint action plan that includes annual youth forums, training and volunteer programmes, entrepreneurship projects in innovation and community development, and exchanges of delegations, reinforcing the role of youth as active partners in development and decision-making. The ministry said the step aligns with the leadership vision in both countries and aims to strengthen dialogue, peace and the role of youth in decision-making. The agreement was coordinated by Egypt's Ministry of Youth and Sports, with support from the Foreign and Finance ministries, which co-chair the joint Egyptian-Bahraini committee.
