Egypt's Petroleum Pipelines Company (PPC) has reported the completion of key projects, including the automated monitoring and control system (SCADA) for early leak detection, which protects pipelines from encroachments and theft. During the company's General Assembly, the company also highlighted nationwide initiatives to replace, renew, and upgrade petroleum transport lines, primarily to secure fuel supplies for power stations, with a total investment of around 3.3 billion Egyptian pounds. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi emphasised the company's pivotal role in reinforcing Egypt's position as a regional energy hub, given its capacity to transport crude from the Red Sea region to the Mediterranean region for storage. He praised employees for expanding the network and ensuring continuous fuel supplies to citizens and key consumption sectors. The company also outlined ongoing projects aimed to strengthen Egypt's regional energy role, including the crude and petroleum product storage facility in Sukhna and the petroleum products pipeline from the Midor Refinery in Alexandria to the Al-Hamra Petroleum Port in Alamein.
