Egypt is set to grant an additional area to China's TEDA Holding Company within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly announced on Sunday during a meeting with Qu Defu, chairman of TEDA Holding Company. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Plus Summit (SCO) in Tianjin, China, saw Madbouly praising TEDA, the industrial developer of the Chinese industrial zone in the SCZONE, describing it as a successful model of bilateral investment. He highlighted plans to attract Chinese companies to sectors including renewable energy, electric vehicles, and battery production, as well as water desalination, and suggested exploring new industrial zones in New Alamein City and the New Administrative Capital. Qu Defu expressed appreciation for Egypt's support, noting that over ten years, the company has attracted 200 companies, invested $3 billion, paid $300 million in taxes, and employed more than 10,000 workers.
