Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam held a meeting with executive director of the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) Helena Thybell on the sidelines of World Water Week in Stockholm. Sewilam praised SIWI as a strategic partner of the ministry in water resources management, citing joint efforts at international events including Cairo Water Week and past climate conferences. He highlighted their cooperation at COP27, where both sides co-organised the Water and Climate Pavilion, putting water at the centre of global climate action. The minister stressed the importance of closer integration between World Water Week and Cairo Water Week (CWW) to align visions and enhance collaboration between the two global platforms. He announced that the CWW 8th edition will be held from October 12 to 16, 2025 under the theme "Innovative Solutions for Climate Resilience and Water Sustainability".
