Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President TANAKA Akihiko praised Egypt's efforts to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during talks with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9). According to a statement by the Egyptian Cabinet said on Thursday, TANAKA expressed regret over the worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza and stressed JICA's commitment to providing support to the enclave. He voiced hope that current mediation efforts would help bring about a ceasefire. Egypt has been playing a central role in ceasefire negotiations, humanitarian aid coordination and efforts to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
