Egypt welcomed the announcement of a peace agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed hope that the constructive US diplomatic mediation efforts would extend to the Middle East, contributing to peace and stability in the region. The ministry said it looks forward to the agreement opening new prospects for constructive cooperation between the two countries, and consolidating peace, security, and stability in the Caucasus, benefiting the peoples of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the entire region, while enhancing opportunities for regional development and prosperity. Meanwhile, Egypt praised the US mediation efforts led by President Donald Trump in facilitating the agreement. It reaffirmed full support for regional and international initiatives aimed at resolving conflicts through peaceful and diplomatic means, promoting good neighbourliness, and prioritising dialogue to safeguard international peace and security.
