Egypt's Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny met with a delegation representing the Egyptian community in the US and the Egyptian Youth Union Abroad to review the ministry's efforts to meet the needs of Egyptian diaspora, according to the Cabinet statement. El-Sherbiny detailed the Beit Al Watan programme, which provides land and housing units in new cities to Egyptians abroad. The programme offers expatriates the chance to invest in their homeland and strengthen their connection by securing homes for themselves, their children, and grandchildren. He also highlighted the Your Home in Egypt initiative launched during the previous Egyptian diaspora conference. This programme offers 5,055 premium housing units with discounts of 3-10 per cent off market prices and flexible payment plans up to 10 years. The second phase of the initiative, which will offer approximately 3,000 residential, administrative, and commercial units, is scheduled to launch in September 2025, according to the Cabinet's statement. The meeting included discussions on proposals from the US-based delegation aimed at promoting Egypt's comprehensive urban renaissance to attract both foreign investments and investments from Egyptians abroad. The Egyptian Youth Union Abroad also raised needs such as training Egyptian youth in Egypt on construction skills to prepare them for overseas employment and increasing housing options for middle-income Egyptians abroad.
