Egypt's health ministry is pressing ahead with plans to modernise diagnostic services at Cairo's Nasser Institute through a partnership with UAE-based Unison Capital Investment, Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said on Tuesday. In a meeting with Unison Capital's director general, Minister Abdel Ghaffar reviewed progress on equipping the medical city's radiology department with advanced imaging technologies, maintaining existing machines and operating new equipment at high efficiency. The minister said private sector partnerships in healthcare aim to improve service quality without increasing costs for patients, citing global best practices such as the UK's National Health Service public-private model. He added that upgrading technology, ensuring proper maintenance and training staff can cut diagnostic waiting times and attract more patients. The collaboration will also develop training programmes for medical personnel to maximise the benefits of new equipment and raise the overall standard of care, the ministry said.
